The hieroglyph NO & DO is the emblem of Seville from the late thirteenth century. It was King Alfonso X the Wise who gave this symbol to the city.

Last Easter Sunday the bullfighting season was opened in Seville. 20 bullfights are held primarily in the April Fair. Also at the end of September for the fair of San Miguel. On October 12, Columbus Day, is the last bullfight of the season.
